During Summer 2009, I carried out a Trusted Repositories Audit & Certification (TRAC) and Digital Repository Audit Method Based on Risk Assessment (DRAMBORA) audit on the main LOCKSS unit based at Stanford University.

Performed Usability Evaluations on the new Drupal-based MLibrary interfaces that serves to provide access to students, faculty, staff and visitors as they seek resources, information, and services across the University’s 19 major libraries. Specifically performed interviews, guerilla usability tests, persona matrices, and carrying out formal usability tests. Formed recommendations and worked with the Web Content Development Team to propose updates for each new design iteration leading to release in January 2009.

Worked with Drupal 5 to implement a range of features and functionality for an online archival praxis community to facilitate knowledge sharing on the subject of archives and the ethics of social memory. Selected and edited original site content to guarantee a successful and enriching user experience, as well as evaluated a range of existing Drupal-based interfaces to determine current best practices in Theme layouts and aesthetics.

Provided assistance to patrons with search queries within electronic catalogs and physical library collections. Performed a usability assessment for the Usability Working Group of the University Library on the newly released MTagger Social Bookmarking Tool. Specifically conducted interviews with potential users, performed cognitive walkthrough, guerilla usability testing, as well as formal usability tests. Developed mock-ups and formed recommendations for the designers of the tool to enhance future usability, functionality and aesthetics.

Performed a usability assessment on the University of MIchigan’s Digital Library Extension Services (DLXS) to determine its viability for an incoming archival collection of AIDS/HIV research papers. This included interviewing science and medical historians, designing personas, performing heuristic and comparative evaluations, and carrying out formal usability tests on two existing collections of archival documents and images. Designed mock-ups and formed recommendations for the Digital Library Production Services of the University of Michigan.

Assisted the Collections Manager with designing and constructing historical museum and outreach exhibits for the local community and tourists. Re-organized archival photo repository and catalog to improve public access to historical materials for research and genealogy. Assisted researchers and hosted discussion forums on local history. Participated in restoration of historical train depot to expand the Museum's outreach.
